O Where O Where Did My Weekend Go?

I can't believe that Sunday is almost over. I've gotten nothing crafty done this weekend. I had planned to work on a layout for a donation scrapbook one of the girls on Crop Chocolate is doing, but only got as far as picking out the paper (I think). My assigned pages are for the month of July, should be easy right, but I'd deciding whether or not to go traditional (red, white and blue) or a little non-traditional, Imaginisce has a great line called "Berrylicious" which I really want to work with, bright summer colors. What do you think? Yesterday, I spent the day doing some hiking up at Galena Creek park, it was windy, but really pretty. The creek is running really high, at the waterfalls it was very close to coming over the bridge. I think I will try to go out over Memorial Day weekend and do the Nature Trail at the South side of the park. I think it might be time to go put the potatoes in the oven for dinner, baked potatoes, pulled pork and salad. The pork s...

Busy Weekend

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there! I've had a busy weekend, yesterday was National Scrapbook Day, so I attended a 14 hour crop held by Scrapbook Paradise here is Reno. It was fun as always, and I got quite a bit accomplished. The first thing I completed was an elegant card for a challenge on CropChocolate   The challenge was to use something from the Making Memories Bravissimo line - sold at Michaels, so the rosette and sentiment are from that line. I've never worked with black and white before, so it was a little out of the box for me, Thanks Tanya for the flower idea. The second project was for my sister, and is a framed picture of 2 of my beautiful nieces Sam and Kelly.  I used the Echo Park Springtime line for this layout, along with some Prima Butterflies and some flowers that I had in my sable (supplies accumulated beyond life expectancy). I'm entering this in the Echo Park NSD challenge. The third project that was on my list was a cover p...

Renewal and Re-dedication

Image
Happy Easter everyone. For me Easter is a time of renewal and re-dedication, so today, that is exactly what I'm doing. I'm re-dedicating myself to living a healthy lifestyle with new goals. I've been struggling with food for the past couple of months, so in honor of spring, I'm going to work on eating more veggies and fruits, less ice cream....also, I'm going to renew my exercise goals and strive for 30 minutes of walking 6 days/week and 20-30 minutes of strength training/toning 5 days/week. The walking part is pretty natural for me, as I try to take 2-15 minutes walk breaks each day at work. The strength/toning part is going to take more discipline. I'll keep you updated on my progress. I've also set my first weight loss goal of the spring. 10 lbs by my birthday in July. It's do-able and will more than likely be adjusted as I move forward. One of the projects I started in August of 2009, was to scrapbook my journey to a healthier life, I've slacked ...

Travel Album

Image
So today, I finally got the chance to work on some pages for my friend Cindy's travel album. I was able to complete 1 full layout and finish up 2 that I had previously started. This layout uses Basic Grey Kioshi, which is one of my favorites because of the color palette.  Here I've used My Minds Eye - Abbey Road to highlight pictures of Ventura, CA and Six Flags. I think this is my favorite, done with BoBunny - Flower Child, you can't see it very well, but I've also used Cinnamon Stickles on the lettering to make it pop a little more. Tomorrow I'm making Mother's Day cards for my Stepmom and Grandma. When you dream it might come true.....when you dream dream big.

Just a Beginning

So, I was thinking about it today and finally decided to start my blog. I plan on showcasing my crafty creations as well as keep everyone up-to-date on the comings and goings of my small household. Thoughts, plans, hopes, dreams, cre8tions......it's all fair game. When you Dream.....Dream Big!
