Stinkin' Cute!

So I'll bet when you saw the title, you thought oh, she's talking about the fur babies, while they are stinkin' cute, I'm actually referring to the treat holders that I made today.  Now to fill them with the treats.

So what do you think? These are for two of my favorite young ladies for halloween, I hope they enjoy them.

I also made a card for a baby shower next weekend, the theme of the shower is.....

you guessed it, Pirates...the inside of the cards says "to the newest member of the Kirby Crew"

My last 2 creations were Xmas Cards to add to the growing pile, since I have to make a total of 40 or so, If I keep going at this rate, I might have enough by Valentine's Day....

These were actually inspired by a card sample I saw on Pinterest.

So, it's been a busy weekend here in Reno, with the Nevada Day Parade on Saturday as well as attending a Pumpkin Walk last night. Unfortunately today I woke up with a sore throat, so I haven't felt like getting much done at all. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I can finish the house cleaning after I hit the gym in the evening.

Keep Dreaming and have a Happy Halloween.
Blessed Be

What a Week

It's Sunday night and I'm thinking about what needs to be done this next week, and wondering where the past week went. Between work, the gym and a trip to Vegas it just flew by.

Last weekend was the Stitch Retreat in Las Vegas, which was fun as always, It's incredible the beautiful work these women do. I"m currently working on a Baby Announcement for a friend who had a beautiful little girl a couple of months ago. I'm about half-way through the project and will try and post a picture in the next couple of weeks.

Good news is, I've joined the gym and been consistent about going - three days/week, usually M - W, Thursdays and Fridays are way too busy. I'm enjoying myself while exercising and hoping to lose some weight in the process.

Another trip to Vegas this week....I think I'm tired of flying back and forth, hopefully now I can stay home for a bit. 3 trips in 3 weeks is a bit much.

Today I finally got some time to work on the Crop Chocolate October Focus Group Challenge - it was Pinterest inspired. Here's my inspiration and what I came up with.

It was kind of fun to do three different cards using the same inspiration.

Pinterest was also the inspiration for a treat I made today...Crock Pot Cinnamon Almonds...

Boy are they yummy. Oh the caption on the picture is for the Picture a Day a group of us are doing on Facebook.

I also got out this morning a took a couple of pictures of the beautiful foliage near my home.

The weather is supposed to turn rainy - with a chance of snow in the mountains tomorrow and Tuesday. So I decided to make a big pot of my favorite soup today - Don's Potato Soup, can't wait for it to be done. This will also be the recipe I use for the next Crop Chocolate recipe swap, which I will be working on next weekend.

Have a fantastic week and Keep Dreaming.......

Operation Write Home....

Wow, it seems like a long time since I've had the time or the inclination to post. I have to admit, it's been a busy few weeks with a few more to go before things settle down. Between work and fun stuff, I've had little time to play, however I did make time to create some cards for Operation Write Home (thanks to the blog hop on Crop Chocolate.

Let's see, what's been going on the past month or so. Over Labor Day weekend, I was lucky enough to have one of my closest friends visit, Virginia City, and Lake Tahoe. It was really great to see her.

Here is Cindy on her first visit to Lake Tahoe

After Labor Day, the next big event is the Reno Balloon Races - I went out on Sunday for the Glow Show and Dawn Patrol. Unfortunately, due to wind conditions, after Dawn Patrol, the balloons were grounded, so no Mass Ascension on Sunday, but beautiful just the same.

Dawn Patrol before take-off

I was able to get some scrapbooking in as well, with a little help from Scrapbook Paradise and the September Crop 'til you Drop - 2 days of scrapbooking and card making

I started my christmas cards - how do they look?

These were for the Crop Chocolate card swap

These are cards that I will send, although a couple of them are being sent to Operation Write Home as well (cards for troops)

I also got the chance to finish up my recipe cards for the Recipe Swap on Crop Chocolate.

I did Taco Salad, here's a close up of the paper pieced taco

Today, I got the chance to make some more cards for Operation Write Home

While I've got a busy couple of weeks planned, with a trip to Vegas next weekend for the semi-annual Stitch Retreat with the Southern NV Stitcher's Guild and Drunk Puppy (a charity event for Noah's Animal Ark), I'm going to attempt to get some more cards made, I'm shooting for 30 or so by the end of October, but my count is only at 12 now. We will see what I can accomplish.

Until next time ----- Keep Dreaming
